spear points dating to thousands of years before the flood (or even adam's alleged creation, for that matter) found preserved in situ among mammoth bones in naco, arizona.. or the 14,000 year-old footprint of a child at a mammoth hunting camp unearthed in a bog in monte verde, chile:.
the kicker is that this isn't even the oldest evidence for human settlement of the americas.
since the wt loves to trot out frozen mammoth carcasses as "proof" that mammoths died in the flood, who were these mammoth eaters in north america?
Hmmm, let's ask a real expert...

i never thought i would be commenting, let alone starting a new topic in the category of bible research and study.
anyone reading my comments on this site would have realised that i am the most unspiritual person to have ever stepped foot inside a kh.
yet for the first time in my life, on saturday night, i did some meaningful bible study/research, on my own without a wtbts publication in sight, except the nwt bible.
How did you find the Orgs way of studying? Effective or not effective?
It's the mental equivalent of "busy work". They call it "study", but it isn't really an intellectual activity. It's actually mind-numbing that allows for only one way of thinking. It's just a review of exactly what is printed right in front of you. No need to think, reason, or debate. No problem-solving skills required. And no room for opinion or originality! The only acceptable answer is right there like low-hanging fruit. Then when you say exactly what's in the paragraph, the conductor says, "Yes, very good! You're so smart and making such wonderful spiritual progress!"
So it's as effective as a cult gets!
For the sake of anyone that has forgotten what a WT "study" is like, here's a reminder:
all they want is some spiritually-qualified publishers blind individuals who believe they are god's mouthpiece on earth.
no wonder their artwork is so poor.. .

kids aren't allowed at Bethel
Well, not for ordinary bethelites. But at Patterson, for example, there were bethelite attorneys like Mario Moreno that had a wife and kids in bethel housing, and Dr/Br. Schiller, and Sam Pate, for example. And there were some where the husband was a bethelite, but the wife wasn't.
That's where the Bethel Book of Angles came into play. If some had the right skills/education, all kinds of exceptions were made to the usual rules.
In this case, if they find someone with skills and kids, they'll try to get them to work remotely. They will gladly let them "pioneer" where they can count their hours as field service time. They might even kick in some money... but only as a last resort.
But I've been gone a while, so I don't know what the GB 2.0 has changed in the Book of Angles. Although the fact that they've kicked out so many old-timers is proof that they've left the rules of GB 1.0 behind.

Even the Bible says "there is no God" (2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Psalms, Isaiah, 1 Corinthians). Awake!, The Watchtower, and other publications also state that in many instances.
No need to check the context. That seems very clear.

Splash, some of the artsy types in bethel admitted that it was pretty dull working for WT. They were creative, but restricted to creating similar paradise scenes showing slightly different models and moving the waterfall from this side to that side. Or making bible scenes that they just really didn't enjoy creating.
And in photography, they kept hoping the models would stay JWs in good standing until the publication went to print.

I think it is Anthony Morris trying out some material for his next talk:
"So I went on the Interwebs and found a bunch of apostates and told them they were all stupid. Then I went out and bought a new watch and had a huge steak dinner. See how smart and successful I am, and I certainly never got any fancy degree."

"Okay Marge, I'm ready to go to the Kingdom Hall!"
so i decided to sign up after many years of lurking.
started researching after finding out about ray franz, which inevitably brought me to this site.. i'm still well and truly inn, but don't want to give any information out, i'm sure you guys know the reasons.. since "jay double you .
org" came online, there has been a definite sense of hysteria with everyone who is "inn", and i get a feeling it's going to get a whole lot crazier as the years press on.. one point i would like to raise is that i feel, without a doubt, that 2034 is going to be the new finish line.
We now know the kind of "higher education" that ToMo is condemning...

Welcome!
Now that more JWs are getting Internet access, they need to have a look at these instructional videos to clarify some confusion the GB has caused with respect to the word "near" as in the phrase "the end is near":

... And wasn't it just a couple of years ago when they trotted out that "prodigal son" melodrama about the kid that was talented with designing video games... but he was a good JW, so he left that job and went back to working construction with his daddy and jealous brother? It was wrong for him to work in that tech field because there were sluts at work, it took to much time away from the cult activities, and the games were BAD.
To me, it's a mixed message. But I came from the time when WT said, "college is bad! We need spiritual men and we'll teach them ALL the skills they'll need in bethel." Then when I was in bethel, the example I saw was, "attending college is bad, but there are a few graduates that are here and get the royal treatment. It's in the Bethel Book of Angles." Now they're a step further and make no mention of needing spiritual men. They go straight to the list of skills. I think they admit their hypocrisy when they practically admit they want people with degrees but nobody can pursue such degrees based on this request.
Maybe I'm bitter and just see it that way. I have my degree now and couldn't imagine using any of my skills for that cult.
